Container Transload Facility (CTF) in Columbus, OH

Our container transload facility is superbly located at the former NS Discovery Park intermodal facility in Columbus, OH, with excellent truck access from Interstates 70, 71 and 270.

The 35-acre facility provides bulk transloading capabilities from both bulk hopper trucks and covered rail hopper cars in quantities from single cars to unit trains.

CTF operates a private gate for trucks arriving for transload, provides on-site USDA/FGIS inspection services, and operates a private, certified truck scale at the facility – all of which serve to maximize efficiency and minimize truck turn time.

Commodities transloaded on-site include agricultural products, steel, heavy equipment, manufactured goods, and raw materials.

Bulk Transloading

World Distribution Services has established a unique 35-acre bulk transloading facility in Columbus, OH that combines transloading services for agricultural commodities such as DDGS and soybeans with a full range of conventional rail and rail intermodal services. Our Container Transload Facility (CTF) can transload product arriving via both bulk hopper truck and rail hopper car to intermodal containers and then place the fully loaded container directly onto intermodal rail cars for service to the USEC, USWC and to the Canadian gateway of Prince Rupert. Containers can be sourced from the largest container depot in the central Ohio area that is located adjacent to the CTF. This is a truly unique operation that combines an excellent source of containers with a full range of transloading services that is rail served.

Heavy Lift and Out-of-Gauge Services

WDS is skilled in the import and export of our customers' special cargo. Our Container Transload Facility will expertly manage projects from small to massive, including unloading or load/transloading flat racks, open tops, containerized shipments and break bulk. Our project cargo specialists can lash, block and brace your most difficult projects per NCB, IMO and AAR standards.

Whether the project necessitates the use of large heavy lift forklifts, loaded lifts, cranes, or rigging equipment, World Distribution Services' CTF will get the job done right – and safely.

Our team of experienced logistics coordinators is well-versed in the handling of out-of-gauge cargo, including overweight, over height, over-width, over-length, and other unique and special freight.
